James is currently the Executive Director at Helmets to Hardhats, as well as the President of the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario.

James became a certified Steamfitter in 1984 after completing his apprenticeship with UA Local 46. He would go on to become the Business Manager at both UA Local 46 and the Ontario Pipe Trades Council. James has worked in the industry for over 40 years and has served on the OCS Board of Directors since 2012. James additionally serves on the Board of Directors for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

James looks forward to seeing the collaborative approach between Labour, Management, and Government representatives in advancing the Unionized Construction Industry.
